About The Foundation

Every young life deserves a future

The Harry Kazmi Foundation was created to help raise awareness, support research, and stand alongside young people and families facing alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS). Through science, collaboration, and advocacy, we aim to help drive greater understanding and hope for those affected by this rare and complex childhood cancer.

To support young people affected by alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma by funding vital research, providing practical support to families, raising awareness of early symptoms, and advancing earlier diagnosis and treatment through improved pathways, policy, and advocacy.

A future where early diagnosis, advanced care, and scientific advancement lead to effective treatments, improved survival, and ultimately a cure for every young person with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

Inspired by Harry’s journey, the foundation exists to drive scientific and clinical progress in alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that primarily affects children and young adults and urgently needs greater attention.

We are committed to closing gaps in early diagnosis, advancing research into more effective treatments, and improving care through better pathways, policy, and advocacy. Above all, we stand beside every young person and family facing this disease, because every young life deserves a future.

Strategic Objectives

Our strategic objectives are focused on helping drive greater awareness, collaboration, research, and support for young people and families affected by alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma

To promote and fund medical research

To promote, support, and fund research into Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma a rare paediatric and adolescent cancer, including research into early diagnosis, improved treatments, and improved clinical outcomes, and to disseminate the useful results of such research for public benefit.

To relieve the needs of affected children, young people, and families

To relieve the needs of children and young people diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, and their families, by providing assistance, practical support, information, and emotional support during diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare.

To advance education and awareness

To promote early diagnosis and clinical pathways

To support initiatives, programmes, and partnerships that improve early detection, referral pathways, and access to appropriate specialist care for those at risk of, or diagnosed with, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma.

To promote the preservation of health and saving lives

Global Collaboration Needed

Rare childhood cancers require international research and scientific collaboration

The Harry Kazmi Foundation has been created with the ambition to help transform awareness, understanding, and future progress in alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS) and other rare childhood cancers. Through science, collaboration, advocacy, and community support, the Foundation aims to help drive earlier diagnosis, encourage greater research investment, strengthen collaboration across healthcare and academia, and help ensure that young people and families facing these complex diseases feel seen, supported, and never alone. Our long-term vision is to help contribute towards a future where rare childhood cancers receive the awareness, scientific attention, and innovation they urgently deserve.”
